I asked for a copy of the observation verification form when I was asked
to sign it. I was told by John Wilber that I would not be able to get a copy of
the form unless I signed it. Since I did not believe that the test was run correctly
and I saw that people had signed the form before the test was complete, I did not
sign the form. Afterwards, Kevin Akin, the chair of the Riverside County Peace
and Freedom Party Central Committe, asked for a copy of the form. He picked up the envelope at the
counter of the Registrar of Voters office. It contained a copy of the form with a
note attached to it.
The form clearly states that the
people who signed it witnessed the logic and accuracy testing of the voting equipment, as
required by law, and that all the tests resulted in accurate voting. I saw people signing this form before the test was finished.
On line 4 and 5 someone wrote the note "Riv Co Grand Jury". This note was not there when I
last saw the original form in person (around 3:00 on 9 September 2003).
Please see the note and letter in which Mischelle Townsend talks about mailing the results to people.
